T Minus Two Weeks

This will be my first bike trip where I don't have a bicycle picked out and ready to go weeks before leaving. I have been scouring the internet for bike shops, second-hand sporting equipment stores, and the classifieds in Auckland looking for my new transportation. I know what I want in a leg-powered vehicle, but finding one in my price range is  challenging. I prefer simple, easy-to-fix, sturdy equipment. I don't mind riding something on the heavier side if the weight is justified by durability. So far, there has only been one internet search that has everything I'm looking for. It's used, durable, and inexpensive. I also think that someone sitting in an Auckland bike shop has a sense of humor.
